While your wedding invitations cover the basics of your big day, there’s often extra info you’d like to share with guests beforehand. Maybe you want to clarify whether kids are invited or suggest what colors to wear. If your venue is tricky to find, you might also include directions or nearby lodging options. Instead of bombarding everyone with endless texts or emails, you can gather all these details in one convenient spot: a wedding website. And beyond logistics, you and your partner might also want to add an “Our Story” page.
This shares your love story—how you met, fell for each other, and got engaged. Depending on your journey, you could sprinkle in funny moments or sweet memories. Ultimately, it gives friends and family a peek into your relationship. “This section helps guests connect with you as a couple and feel more involved in your story,” says Natalie Pinney, co-founder and lead planner of Whim Events. But even if you know you want this page, you might need inspiration from real examples.

8 Sample “Our Story” Pages From Wedding Websites
Stuck on how to structure your page? Here are some real-life examples to get you started.

Brittany and Amy
Brittany and Amy’s story takes guests through their serendipitous meeting on a dating app—after years of living just minutes apart in Los Angeles without ever crossing paths.
They frequented the same coffee shops, markets, and concerts for three years but somehow never ran into each other. (In L.A., living five minutes apart basically makes you neighbors!) Amy even worked two blocks from Brittany and spent lunch breaks reading outside her office window—yet fate kept them apart. Until one day, Amy swiped right and literally ran into Brittany… on her phone screen.
Amy instantly screenshotted Brittany’s profile, texting friends and family: “I found the one!” Brittany’s profile asked for someone who loved coffee (Amy had built coffee shops in Brooklyn), the outdoors (she’s a hiking enthusiast), vinyl records (she had her own collection), and had a big heart (which Brittany can confirm after four years together).

Amelia and Brendan
Amelia and Brendan’s website explains how their chemistry was instant—but it took years for them to finally become a couple.
Summer 2016. A pregame at Apartment 26A before a DJ Flume concert. Amelia’s best friend, Alyssa, dragged her along, and that’s when she spotted him: Brendan Holland, a towering 6’7″ guy. “How could I ever pull someone like that?” she thought.
They snapped selfies and flirted, but the night ended without a kiss. Over the next few years, their connection grew stronger. At a housewarming party a year later, Brendan leaned in and whispered, “Amelia, one day it’ll be our time.”
Fast-forward to New Year’s Eve 2021. Amelia finally texted Brendan: “I’d love to go on a date with you in 2022.” He replied, “Powerful manifesting! Let’s make it happen.” Two FaceTime dates and one in-person meetup later, they were inseparable. Brendan proposed on February 18, 2023.

Mackenzie and Peter
These high school sweethearts began their story with a middle-school romance that never fizzled.
November 21, 2007: Peter nervously asked Mackenzie at her locker, “Will you be my girlfriend?” She said yes.
Fourteen years later, on a Montauk cliff hike, Peter got down on one knee (with their pup, Reishi, by his side) and asked, “Will you marry me?” Another yes—this time, for life.
Through high school, college long-distance, graduations, careers, and travels, they’ve stuck together. As Peter says, “It’s true love.”

Lizzy and Jef
Their story starts with mutual friends Pat and Ellen, who took way too long to realize Lizzy and Jeff were perfect for each other.
In 2017, Ellen told Lizzy, “You’d love my boyfriend’s best friend.” A failed New Year’s meetup (thanks to Lizzy hugging the toilet) led to Snapchat flirting. Two weeks later, they finally met on a double date—and talked for eight hours straight.
Five years later, they’ve survived cross-country moves, kitten parenting, Crunchwrap binges, and Jeff dragging Lizzy to sports games (while she drags him to theater).

Anjali and Trit
Their “Our Story” page gives a quick but sweet rundown:
They met over cookies in Palo Alto. Dinner led to drinks, which led to moving in together. Survived med school, a pandemic, and long-distance (with a lot of United flights). After a legal courthouse wedding in 2021, they’re thrilled to celebrate properly with family and friends.

Bonnie and Kurt
Pandemic dating at its finest:
March 2020. NYC lockdown. Kurt slid into Bonnie’s DMs, then upgraded to a penguin onesie FaceTime date. Six hours later, they were smitten. Their first IRL date? A germ-safe walk where Kurt mask-kissed her cheek.
Early dates included panic-quarantines, random CityMD visits, and kitchen dance parties. Now, they’re writing their next chapter.

Nicole-Juliet and Patrick
Their first date was a loud brunch with a DJ (not the promised jazz). A stranger even interrupted to say, “You two are adorable!”
Since then, they’ve traveled the world, quarantined in Virginia, and explored each other’s hometowns.

Samantha and Kevin
A timeline of their love (with emojis, obviously):
- 1994: Born two days apart (Sam’s older—duh).
- 2014: College BFFs bonded over Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwiches and Burnett’s.
- 2016: Graduated, then finally admitted they should date.
- 2018: Adulting: law school, teaching jobs, and their first apartment.
- 2020: Pandemic = kitty rescue and no breakup. Win.
- 2021: Kev proposed five minutes after law school graduation.
- 2022: Married with the best party ever. #SevinRings 💍
5 Tips for Writing Your Wedding Website’s “Our Story” Section
Still stuck on how to tell your love story? Experts share their best advice for creating a captivating “Our Story” page on your wedding website.
1. Keep It Casual
Use the same words you’d say out loud, suggests Goulding. This isn’t a school essay—skip the stiff, overly formal language or fancy words that might confuse people. Writing in your real voice keeps readers engaged and makes your story feel personal.
2. Keep It Short
A never-ending “Our Story” will lose your guests’ attention. Pinney advises keeping it brief instead of writing long paragraphs. “You don’t have to share every little detail, especially if that’s not your style,” she says. A clear, concise version of your love story ensures guests actually read—and enjoy—the whole thing.
3. Cover the Key Moments
Most couples include how they met and the proposal, but don’t stop there. Goulding recommends adding fun extras, like your favorite shared hobbies, to give a deeper peek into your relationship. Pinney also suggests mentioning why your wedding location is special to you both.
4. Have Fun With It
Writing your story takes effort, but if you want to get creative, there are so many ways to make your website unique. Pinney’s ideas: Tell the story from your pet’s perspective or share side-by-side accounts from each partner’s viewpoint. You could even add visuals, like a screenshot of your first text or a journal entry about the day you met.
